Happy Thanksgiving from UBB!

To all of our friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues, we wish you a very happy Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays at University Beyond Bars because it gives us a chance to connect with our donors, friends, and colleagues who continue to support our work in providing higher educational opportunities for our students in prison.

We are so thankful to our students who are committed in earning an education for themselves, which translates to them having better futures. Our student, Michael Darrington, expressed how his views on education changed because of our programs.

"I didn't take school seriously before I got into prison. I didn't have the confidence to be an A student. However, through the 'Lifers' at WSR, I was received the support that I needed. By building this strong base, I could build this nice house of education, which is now me. Now, I aspire to transfer to the University of Washington, which wasn't a possibility for me five years ago."
